Abstract

Antibodies directed against lysergyl-poly- l-lysine were elicited in rabbits. A ligand binding assay was developed to monitor antibody activity. Results using this assay showed that immunoadsorption selects for the antibody population representing the average affinity in the serum with subsequent loss of high and low affinity subpopulations. Measurements of average intrinsic association constants ( K o ) and heterogeneity indices ( a) were made with IgG fractions of anti-lysergyl antisera and compared with purified antibody populations after immunoadsorption.
