In the present study, In vitro anti- leishmanial activitiy of Ethanolic ,Methanolic , Benzene, and Chloroform extracts of Chinopodiumambrosioides have been evaluated . Among those extracts ethanolic extract of Chinopodiumambrosioides shows effective antileishmanial activity against promastigote form of leishmanial donovani. ascoridole present in C.ambrosioides which may be responsible for inhibition the growth of parasites. It was found that IC 50 = 150 ?g /ml( 50% inhibition at 150 ?g /ml) and IC90 =200 ?g /ml (complete inhibition at 200?g /ml)..
