Abstract

The present study was carried out to evaluate the anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity of whole plant of Brassica oleracea Linn var. capitata f. rubra (Red Cabbage) in rats. Anti-inflammatory activity of Carrageenan induced hind paw edema method; the oral administration of Brassica oleracea in dose (225 mg/kg) produced significant reduction (p Brassica oleracea in dose (225 mg/kg) significantly increased the hot plate reaction time of animals up to 150min at a dose of 225mg/kg. The results were compared to Standard drug Naproxen.
