Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a carbohydrate metabolism disorder of endocrine system due to an absolute or relative deficiency of insulin secretion, action, or both [1]. The disorder affects more than 100 million people worldwide and it is predicted to reach 366 million by 2030. The non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM, type 2) is the most prevalent form globally which is associated with elevated postprandial hyperglycemia.
