Abstract: Dobbeler, P. 2017. Antheridia of Bryum capillare release moving spermatozoids after two months in the air-dry state. – Herzogia 30: 501–503. A specimen of the moss Bryum capillare collected in August 2004 in Tuscany (Italy) was preserved for two months at room temperature. The specimen was rehydrated and screened for the presence of fungi. It was observed that mature antheridia released moving spermatozoids. Antheridia and spermatozoids survived for 60 days in the air dry state.
