Abstract

common resistance patterns were pan-susceptible (38.2%), AUG-AMP-FOX-TIO-CHL-TET (16.6%), AUG-AMPFOX-TIO-CHL-TET-Timethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (SXT) (12.4%), AUG-AMP-FOX-TIO-CHL-TET-SXT-Gentamicin (GEN) (11.3%), and AMP-TIO-CHL-TET-SXT-GEN (7.6%). Although antimicrobial resistance among equine clinical Salmonella isolates did not increase for any drug and declined for several antimicrobial agents, multi-drug resistance was common in the region with 60.5% of isolates showing resistance to two or more drugs on the NARMS panel.
