Abstract

Case Report A 34-year-old man presented to the emergency room with a complaint of left knee pain and deformity. The patient recalled that while fleeing several armed assailants, he struck his left foot on a curb with his knee in full extension. He immediately fell to the ground and was unable to bear weight on his left leg. Upon examination he had a left knee hyperextension deformity with no evidence of gross varus/valgus malalignment. He was neuro vase ularly intact bilaterally. Radiographs of the patient's left knee were obtained (Fig 1). Diagnosis: Anterior knee dislocation.
