Abstract

Through an anteroposterior pyramidal bony tunnel, with the floor of the nasal cavity as a base and the roof as an apex, and the anterior opening nar rower than the posterior, we reach the nasopha-ryngeal transition, termed the posterior opening of the nasal cavity, or choanae, which is divided by the same bony septum as the anterior opening. While the choanae are divided by the vomer, the anterior opening is divided by the septal cartilage (Fig.43).
