Abstract

An antenna planar near-field measurement system using robotics which is built by BIRMM (Beijing Institute of Radio Metrology and Measurement) is introduced in the paper. The system is consisted of six axis robotic arm, transmitting antenna setup, the vector network analyzer, the AUT (antenna under test) and a scanning probe antenna. The Probe in system is used to collect amplitude and phase of every sampling points on scanning planar. The robotic arm moves according to planar near-field scanning trajectory with the scope of the scanning plane 1.6 m ×1.6 m and the repetitive positioning accuracy 0.05 mm. Using a 26.5 GHz-40 GHz standard gain horn antenna as the AUT, measurement results of radiation pattern in the system is in good agreement with those in a far-field antenna system. Therefore the antenna planar near-field measurement system has a good performance for 26.5GHz-40GHz antenna measurement
