Abstract

Abstract:A rectangular planar array antenna synthesis technique based on Genetic Algorithmoptimization is used to achieve sufficient link margin for low earth orbit (LEO) satellitesantenna, by adjusting the antenna gain.A genetic algorithm (GA) is used to optimize the array excitation. Thinning [1] ofelements is used with different excitation techniques.A phased array antenna with rectangular aperture and cos1.5 􀈙 elements power pattern isassumed.
