Abstract

Vasa previa is a rare complication of pregnancy with a high perinatal mortality, which has virtually not changed over the last 200 years. In this case report we describe the use of color Doppler ultrasonography to make a correct antepartum diagnosis of vasa previa. The baby was delivered by Cesarean section. A strategy is presented which may reduce the high mortality rate from this condition.
