Abstract

Among disease agents responsible for economic losses, fungi have a great importance in greenhouse eggplant production in Mediterranean region. Cold, humid and inadequately ventilated greenhouses exhibit an ideal environment for gray mold, along with several fungi species. Prevalence and disease severity of white mold and gray mold diseases were determined with surveys conducted in May 2010 and 2011, in eggplant growing greenhouses in Adana and Mersin provinces. Surveys were carried out about 150 da of land in Alanya, Gazipasa, Finike, Manavgat, Serik, Kumluca and central districts of Antalya and 140 da of land in Anamur, Aydincik, Bozyazi, Gulnar, Tarsus and central districts of Mersin. It was determined that 59 % of total survey area is infested with gray mold and 19 % was infested with white mold in the districts of Antalya.
