Abstract

This work has the objective to study the antagonistic capacity of three bacte-rial species (Bacillus subtilus, B. amyloliquefasciens, and Pseudomonas pleco-glossicida), on mycelia growth of 20 isolates of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. Albedinis (Foa), the causal agent of bayoud disease on date palm. We tested the inhibition of mycelial growth by dual confrontation method using these three bacteria species. A significant effect (P<0,05) of these microorganisms was observed on mycelial growth of 20 isolates of Foa, with the inhibition rates varied between 28,05 and 64,2%. The confirmation of this inhibition was observed by creation of inhibition zones in the Foa colonies confronted by these bacteria. The obtained results lead us to think about the possibility to apply these bacterial species as biofungicide in the control of Bayoud dis-ease in our contaminated groves and can be considerate as another alterna-tive fungicide in the efficient integrated disease management strategy.
