Abstract

The extrapolation of creep rupture data is an important aspect of creep resistant design. Numerous extrapolation methods and models and have been developed in the last 100 years to predict long-term creep resistance. Recently, a critical review of two modern models was performed (Bolton, 2022) [1]. The Datum Temperature Method (DTM) with Wilshire-Cano-Stewart (WCS) model (Cano et al., 2022) [2] was evaluated and compared to the Parametric Numerical Isothermal Datum (P-NID method) (Bolton, 2017) [3]. The DTM method with WCS model has a different purpose and capabilities when compared to the P-NID method.
