Summary

Introduction

The patient, a 34-year-old female runner, presented with a 6-week history of right hip pain that progressed slowly. At the time of initial presentation, a plain radiograph (Figure 1) was performed, demonstrating subtle lytic foci in the right supra-acetabular ileum and right lesser trochanter. Preliminary radiographic differential diagnoses included multiple myeloma, osteolytic metastatic disease, eosinophilic granulomas or cystic angiomatosis.
