Abstract

This article annotates and explains one of the longest Quevedo’s silvas. This poem could be considered as a summary of the author’s moral and existencial topics. The study tries to solve the difficult passages of the poem putting them in their cultural context and literary tradition. Other similar texts from Quevedo’s works and other Golden Age poets are also quoted.
