Boyar, after reading his article, "The Effect of Clomiphene Citrate in Anosmic-Hypogonadotrophism" (Ann Intern Med71:1127, 1969). The patient was presented as a case of anosmia and hypogonadotrophic eunuchoidism due to defective pituitary activation by the hypothalamic releasing factors for luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). This diagnosis seems very dubious since the patient had normal levels of plasma LH and FSH.
