Abstract

An anomalous TSC flowing in the same direction as the charging current was observed in a high-density poly-ethylene (HD-PE) thermoelectret. The forming-temperature and field dependences of the TSC were measured, and the amounts of injected space charge in HD-PE specimens were also evaluated from the collecting-bias TSC. They were found to have a good correlation with the magnitudes of the peaks of the anomalous TSC. Numerical calculation revealed the appearance of an anomalous TSC peak originating from injected space charge under the blocking electrode condition. From these results, the anomalous TSC was concluded to be due to injected space charge and the blocking condition of the electrodes.
