Abstract

High resolution capacitance dilatometry has been used to verify the first-order nature of the 208 K phase transition in Ag RbI and to measure the volume change at the 122 K first-order phase transition. The latter is in accord with prediction using the Clausius-Clapeyron equation. Problems relating to the chemical stability of the compound are discussed.
