Abstract

Magnetic response of the superconducting mixed state of CeRu 2 is studied using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and a comparison is made with the results obtained earlier with the SQUID magnetometer. While confirming various results associated with the anomalous peak-effect in CeRu 2, the present VSM study also reveals some interesting new features which were not observed in the SQUID-magnetometer studies.
