Abstract

The magnetic viscosity parameter, S, within the recoil curves and on the major hysteresis loop of NiO/Ni nanocomposites were measured. On the major hysteresis loop S is negative and constant in time, while within the recoil curves S is initially positive before going through zero and becoming negative. This is modelled using a Markov chain which describes the occupation of the branches of a set of hysterons.
