Abstract
The effects of a stochastic electric field of high frequency and phase velocity on the dynamics of a low-velocity particle is studied. It has been shown that the effect of such fields, to second order in the electric field strength, is to introduce an anisotropic drag force into the equations of the particle dynamics which, as in the collisional case, is linearly related to the particle velocity and vanishes when the autocorrelation time of the statistical electric field vanishes.
