Abstract
A study of bifurcation boundaries in parameter space of 3-D map for dc electric drive with pulse-width modulation of the 1-st kind (PWM-l) has been carried out. Both "classical" bifurcations and border collision bifurcations were carefully studied. A characteristic (typical) structure of border collision boundaries has been revealed and studied. This border collision boundaries structure may show the mechanism of subharmonic motions (resonanses) appearance, which are defined at the discontinuities of 3-D map derivative. A qualitative similarity between the effect of synchronization of periodic motions at the torus and the appearance of subharmonic resonances has been found.
