Abstract

Anomalous behaviour of the radiofrequency size effect signal arising from the hole octahedron in tungsten has been observed previously (Thompson and Myers 1973). Further detailed measurements have been made and subsequent analysis shows that the anomaly can be explained in terms of the overlapping of RFSE signals. This explanation also provides a means of measuring the temperature dependence of the mean free path despite the anomalous behaviour.
