Abstract

The electrical resistivity and thermal expansion of Fe72Ni28 alloy have been investigated under high pressure up to 15 kbar. Anomalous behaviors near the martensitic transformation are found in the temperature dependence of thermal expansion and electrical resistivity. The transformation temperature Ms on cooling process decreases with increasing pressure but its pressure coefficient below 7 kbar, ∂Ms/∂P=-6.7 K/kbar, is different from that above 7 kbar, -10 K/kbar. The discontinuous change in volume and resistance near Ms tends to disappear at high pressure.
