Abstract

Condyloma accuminata are common venereal warts of the anogenital region. Careful differential diagnosis is important to avoid futile attempts at treatment and psychological trauma to patients. Lymphangioma circumscriptum (LC) is a rare benign tumor of the lymphatic channels in the skin and is refractory to ablative treatment. We describe a 19-year-old woman with anogenital LC mimicking the outlook of giant condyloma accuminata. She was diagnosed with condyloma accuminata and treated accordingly and had suffered from repeated recurrences since her childhood. The stigma of a sexually transmitted disease has perturbed her sexual relationships. After the correct diagnostic work-up and explanation she got married and delivered a baby vaginally. (excerpt)
