Abstract

Anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV) of nickel hydroxide nanoparticles (Ni(OH)2-NPs) have been studied at boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes. The Ni(OH)2-NPs were self-synthesized in a complexation-precipitation reaction with an average size of 16.8 nm. Some parameters of ASV have been optimized, including pHs, deposition potentials, deposition time and scan rate. A solution of 0.1 M HClO4 has been selected as the supporting electrolyte solution. An estimated limit of detection (LOD) of 0.419 µM could be achieved with the optimum deposition potential of -600 mV, the deposition time of 90 s and the scan rate of 100 mV/s,. Comparison with the ASV at phosphate buffer solution pH 3 indicated that the ASV of Ni(OH)2-NPs in acid solution pH 1 generates a better result than in pH 3 solution.
