Abstract

Anodic dissolution of 50–83 at% Cu containing Pd+Cu alloy sheets were examined by constant current polarization and linear sweep voltammetry. One of the four ordered structures (PdCu 3 ) described earlier could be identified by both electrochemical and X-ray diffraction methods. The dissolution of PdCu 3 ordered alloy is characteristically different from that of the homogeneous alloy phase. The surface structures of the alloys were modified by anodic dissolution: copper was dissolved depending on the alloy composition and the amount of ordered phase increased. The smallest alterations were found on the 65 at% Cu+Pd alloy.
