Abstract
An anode material based on lithium titanate Li4Ti5O12 with a particle size of 4–5 nm was obtained. Decreasing particle size of lithium titanate significantly changes its electrochemical properties. First of all, the shape of the charge–discharge curve alters and the lithium intercalation–deintercalation rate at high cycling rate increases. At the first cycles of cycling, the charge capacity of the produced material considerably exceeds the calculated value and rapidly decreases while cycling, approaching the discharge capacity, which remains constant.
