Abstract

### Accreditation The American Academy of Neurology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing education for physicians. The AAN has designated certain annual meeting activities for CME credit in Category 1 of the Physician's Recognition Award of the American Medical Association. CME credits may be earned by participation both in the educational program and the scientific program of the AAN Annual Meeting. ### Education Program: Registration for and participation in courses, seminars, workshops and kick-off programs earns the CME credits individually designated in the 1998 AAN Annual Meeting Registration & Advance Program. Confirmation by letter of CME credits earned at the 1998 Annual Meeting will be received by attendees approximately six to eight weeks after the meeting. ### Scientific Program: Category 1 CME credits are awarded on a one-credit-per-hour basis for participation in platform, plenary, and specified portions of poster sessions. To request such credit, attendees must complete the Request for CME Credit: 1998 Scientific Program form available in the meeting registration packet. The awarding of CME credit or scientific program participation will only be made when a request for CME credit is submitted to the Academy office and meeting registration has been validated. ### Recording of Programs Audio and videotaping are not allowed during courses, seminars, workshops, and kick-off programs. Flash picture taking is not allowed during any education or scientific programs. ### No Smoking Regulations There will be no smoking at all Academy functions. ### Education and Scientific Program Monitors Monitors are also needed for the scientific platform sessions.
