Abstract

Abstract Monthly sampling for Meloidogyne hapla and Heterodera trifolii has been carried out in Egmont brown loam from October 1971 to January 1973. The main larval invasion of white clover roots occurred at the time of spring pasture growth. M. hapla appears to overwinter as eggs in egg masses. The changes in the population are discussed in relation to those previously reported for H. trifolii in a seasonally dry yellow-grey earth.
