Abstract

The Editorial Committee of the Botanical Society of Japan annually recognizes excellent papers published in the Journal of Plant Research (JPR) that are judged to be the best in terms of scientific importance and citation frequency. The authors of these papers are named recipients of the JPR Best Paper Award and the JPR Most-Cited Paper Award, respectively. It is with great pleasure to announce that two papers, one by Dr. Madoka Ayano and her colleagues and the other by Dr. Toshimitsu Ikushima and Dr. Teruo Shimmen, are recipients of the JPR Best Paper Award for 2006, and that a paper by Dr. Thomas Schmulling and colleagues receives the Most-Cited Paper Award for 2006.
