Abstract

Beginning on 1 January 2009, authors with Chinese, Japanese, or Korean names may choose to have their names published in their own language, alongside the English versions of their names, in the author list of their publications.1 For Chinese, authors may use either Simplified or Traditional characters. In order to participate in this free service, interested authors must include Chinese, Japanese, or Korean characters within the author list of their manuscripts when submitting or resubmitting. The publisher does not offer a translation service and will not insert names; this is the author’s responsibility. To participate, authors must prepare their manuscripts using Microsoft Word or using the CJK LaTeX package. Specific guidelines for each authoring tool are given at http://www.aip.org/pubservs/cjk_instructions.html. To ensure that the manuscript submission system has processed the submitted manuscript files correctly, authors must proof the PDF of the manuscript file as produced by the Peer X-Press system upon submission. In addition, it is essential that authors check carefully the page proofs they will receive from the publisher prior to publication of the accepted paper.
