Abstract
Annemarie Weber has an MD from the University of Tubingen, Germany. However, she never intended to practise medicine. After an introduction into muscle research by her famous father (H. H. Weber), she never looked back. Following postdoctoral training at University College London, she moved to the USA, where she was a member of the Institute for Muscle Disease and of Columbia University in New York. She was Professor of Biochemistry at St Louis University before finally moving to the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently engaged in kinetic studies of actin polymerization and on the effect of actin-binding and -capping proteins.
