Abstract

The effects of thermal history on dichloromethane vapor sorption and transport properties in two polyesters based on hexafluorobisphenol-A were studied. Films of the polyesters, aged at room temperature for 1 and 3 years, were annealed at temperatures below and above the Tβ value of each sample for different periods of time. Significant changes on the transport and sorption properties of the materials due to heat treatment were observed and are correlated to changes in density and free volume of the polymers.
