Abstract

La2CuO4 single crystals grown at an oxygen pressure of 0.2 MPa by TSFZ method are superconducting below 32 K, and show a semiconducting behavior in nonsuperconducting state. The single crystals of La2Cu04 are changed from superconductors to semiconductors by annealing in argon, and are returned to superconductors by annealing at ambient pressure of oxygen. Therefore, superconductivity of the La2CuO4 single crystals is due to excess oxygen.KeywordsOxygen PressureOxygen FlowArgon FlowAnnealing EffectExcess OxygenThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
