Abstract

ON THE COVER: A photomicrograph showing amyloid deposition in an arrector pili muscle in the dermis of skin biopsy from a patient with transthyretin familial amyloid neuropathy. The amyloid deposit is stained with congo red, but under polarized light the apple‐green birefringence shining through the red stain produces a bright golden appearance. See Ebenezer et al, pages 44‐56, in this issue for details.
