Abstract

In this article of the Zeitschrift fur Psychodrama und Soziometrie the effectiveness of a short-term psychodrama group therapy on high-school students suffering from mathematics anxiety is investigated. On the basis of Elliott’s Hermeneutic Single Case Efficacy Design (HSCED) the results of the therapy of one participant, a 19-year-old female student, are presented. The analysis of the quantitative research data collected with Personal Questionnaire and those of the qualitative research data based on the Client Change Interview show significant pre-post treatment differences. The Rich Case Record on therapy process and outcome supports the hypothesis that psychodrama group sessions bring about changes in the severity ratings of the subject’s problem areas.
