Abstract

Meeting tourism is growing fast and destinations that wish to focus on tourism have taken this as a possible development strategy. However, tourism operates as a system in which various actors participate, through a specific activity. The objective of this study was to identify the actors involved in the management of meeting tourism in the city of Aguascalientes, Mexico and their relational dynamic. The use of stakeholder theory and the application of network analysis provided the basis for analyzing and evaluating the actors involved in the management of this type of tourism in the destination and the way in which they are related, allowing the identification of the behavior that they have with respect to the management function, which will have repercussions on the development of the destination within this type of tourism.
