Abstract

The present study represents a diagnosis of the sugar and alcohol industry sector regarding to an analysis of the Terms of Adjustment of Conduct (TACs) signed between the sugar mills placed in the Triângulo Mineiro region and the Public Ministry of Labor (MPT) of the 3rd Region in a timeline from the year 2011 to 2020. So, the idea is to quantify and qualify the transgressions wich occurred year by year, each five years, and in the demarcated decade, so the reader can verify and perceive the types and evolution of the agreements signed and, above all, the causes that gave rise to the concretized terms, and thus, present an overview of the situation in the sector throughout the delimited period. Given this context, the methodological proposal of the object to be studied is presented like an exploratory and explanatory approach research, with a type of approach combined between qualitative and quantitative ways, known as quali-quanti method. The kind of the research is an applied one, and it presents an exploratory approach with eminently documental means or procedures, once the research was carried out in official documents, bibliographic survey as well, in addition to the use of IRAMUTEQ software as a guide for the study guidelines, which were aligned to the documental evaluation technique used by the researcher. The purpose of this study is to present a theoretical, technical and legal intention on offering practical results to society through the actions of agencies and institutions that militate in the protection of labor rights area- as a part of the sustainability of this laboral (work) environment – notably the MPT vis-à-vis the private companies involved in the study, with no intention of ending the thematic nuances that comprise the investigated matter. The study and its results, generated by the proposed research have a technical-scientific guideline in the sense of supporting the ecologically balanced environment through the valuation and protection of fundamental social labor rights and decent work – of the sugarcane worker – through the idea that the fullness of the “sustainability” institute is not achieved when analyzed in a disintegrated way, so that it is not appreciated in its interdisciplinarity, then, it is not only about environmental analysis from the ecosystem balance the point of view, the biodiversity protection or the physical-chemical-biological environment. It is imperative to establish that these connections must essentially be related to social, economic and even political variables. And it is from this perspective that this study is guided as one of its main pillars.
