Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the types and methods of training that street runners in Brazil use in their periodization. It is a study based on secondary data from publications in Brazilian academic journals in the area of ​​physical education that analyzed and recorded, after the first filter, 72 articles published in Brazilian journals. The first article was published in 2009 and the years with the highest number of articles published were 2018 and 2019. The Brazilian Journal of Exercise Prescription and Physiology presented the highest number of publications. This study investigated whether street runners follow any training model (periodized, interval, intermittent, among others) and, thus, brought a way to assist sports professionals with the methods and development of training for professional and beginner street runners and thus improve the performance of runners and contribute to the prevention of injuries.
