Abstract

After january 8, 1993, with arrival of the Landscape law in France, politicians became to consider landscape to conceive theirs urban planning documents. In this context, Vaulnaveys-Le-Haut, near Grenoble, revised its master plan. The city landscape was changing in peri-urbans zones with effects of cultivated lands abandon and arrival of new habitants. A specific landscape study was done; it was based on a sensitive and concrete analysis of current and future landscapes. This work enumerates landscape goals that were translated in a reference chart to politicians. The master plan has effective instruments to enforce landscape protection. So, from landscape project a proposition of zoning considering only landscape criteria was done to Vaulnaveys-Le-Haut.
