Abstract

Objectives: Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) is used in the diagnosis of peripheral artery disease. However, ABI is also an indicator of generalized atherosclerosis. In fact, low levels have been associated with higher rates of coronary and cerebrovascular diseases. The objective of our study was to evaluate the relationship between ABI and coronary heart disease (CHD) risk among type 2 diabetic patients.
