Abstract

Summary Invasive skeletal traction is useful in some arthroscopic ankle procedures. Current techniques use large skeletal pins (with risk of pin track complications) and may limit access to the joint. We describe the use of an Ilizarov frame with fine wires. We consider this method to have practical and theoretical advantages over those previously described.
