Anisotropy of the cosmic microwave background radiation and the large-scale structure of the universe

Abstract

Implications of the cosmic microwave background spectrum and anisotropy are reviewed, with emphasis on the large-scale structure of the universe. Observations, theories and simulations are compared with the predictions of the cold dark matter ansatz, and prospects for future progress are assessed.
