Abstract
We report on a Cr:YAG Q-switched laser using monoclinic, disordered Nd:LYSO crystal as gain medium. Anisotropy in pulsed laser performances is investigated with samples in different cut directions. With Y-cut Nd:LYSO, pulse energy of 150.8 μJ and peak power of 14.7 kW are achieved at 1079 nm. However, in the case of X-cut Nd:LYSO, multi-wavelength emission at 1076, 1077.5 and 1079 nm are observed, the total pulse energy and peak power are 120.9 μJ and 7.8 kW respectively.
