Abstract

It is shown that a simple model for anisotropic rotations of membrane constituents can predict the angular dependence of the R 1Z relaxation rates of cholesterol labelled with 2H at different ring positions. The results suggest that a general formalism is possible for the contributions from molecular motions to the nuclear spin relaxation rates.
