Anisotropic intermolecular potentials for nitrogen determined from second virial and shear viscosity coefficient data

Abstract

A variety of model potentials, differing only in the anisotropy of the short-range repulsion, were fitted to the second virial coefficient data for nitrogen. The spherical average of these potentials differed markedly.The corresponding shear vis-cosity coefficients were also calculated using the Monchick-Mason approximation.
