Abstract
An electrical column explosion of a copper and graphite powder mixture was investigated and one possible model was established, in which such a powder mixture is anisotropically heated by an electric current due to the difference in resistivities of the constituents. One of the constituents of the powder mixture reaches its boiling point at a shorter time, thus leading to the column explosion.
