Abstract

We investigate the anisotropic effect of densities of cars on the dynamical jamming transition and self-organization in the cellular automaton model of traffic flow. By the use of computer simulation, it is shown that the traffic-jam transition occurs at higher density of cars with increasing the difference between the density of upward cars and the density of right cars. The phase diagram of the jamming transition is found. The patterns of traffic flow by self-organization of cars are shown. We find that the difference of the densities of cars has an important effect on the dynamical jamming transition. We also present a mean-field theory for the jamming transition in the traffic-flow model.
